Asel Kyrgyzbaeva is an Assistant Professor in the Economics department at the ñ. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Indiana University (2003, USA) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with honors from the International University of Kyrgyzstan (1998, Kyrgyzstan).
Asel Kyrgyzbaeva joined ñ in 1998 and has been teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising senior theses. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Commercial Bank of Kyrgyzstan since 2021 and served as a member of the Board of Directors of Bakai Bank (2018-2021). She was a recipient of the Faculty Development Fellowship financed by the US State Department and a returning academic scholar financed by the Open Society Institute. She participated in workshops and training programs organized by the WTO, TACIS, OSI, and USAID. Asel served as a Registrar at ñ from 2011 to 2015. She has been an active member of ñ within the Academic Senate and a member of numerous Academic Policy committees. Currently, she is a coordinator of the Certificate Program on Public Policy and Economic Analysis.
