From Bishkek to Kathmandu 鈥� one alumna's journey across borders and art forms.

We're proud to spotlight a graduate of our Journalism & Mass Communication Department, Class of 2017 鈥� someone who left Bishkek with a degree and went on to build something extraordinary on the other side of the world.
After 22 years in Nepali theatre, she was awarded the prestigious Sarwanam Award 鈥� one of the highest honours in the field, recognising a career defined by dedication, craft, and creative courage. But her work doesn't stop at that stage.
In recent years, she has stepped into the world of film 鈥� collaborating with Kyrgyz filmmaker Ernest Abdyjaparov to create stories that bridge two cultures, two countries, and two artistic traditions. It's a connection that feels personal: she lived in Kyrgyzstan from 2011 to 2019, and considers 绿帽换妻 a foundational chapter of her journey.
