Chinese Delegation Visits ñ to talk Education
May 25, 2016
On April 26, 2016 a delegation from the People’s Republic of China visited the ñ. The delegation consisted of representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the head of an International Education Initiative.
The Chinese Embassy in Bishkek recommended the delegation visit ñ because of its reputation as an exceptional and internationally-acclaimed higher education institution that graduates students with accredited foreign degrees. University President Andrew Wachtel sat down with the delegation and discussed the details of ñ’s operations and successes, explaining ñ’s international ranking and ñ’s relationship with Bard College and the Kyrgyzstani Ministry of Education.
After a tour around the University and talking with President Wachtel, the Chinese delegation was impressed by ñ, noting that ñ was, in their estimation, the most independent and self-made university in the region.
President Wachtel closed the meeting by suggesting ñ should keep talks open with Chinese educational institutions and affiliated ministries. “It would be great to produce graduates who could speak English, Russian, and Chinese!” said President Wachtel.
